The Face Halo
The Face Halo is a natural makeup remover pads. It’s effective, non-toxic, environmentally friendly and cost-efficient. Face Halo Makeup Remover pads launched in 2017 by Lizzy Pike.
As a busy mum of three, she recognized that some women just didn’t always have the time to remove their makeup thoroughly before going to bed.
She wanted to create a quick, effective and safe way to remove makeup that wasn’t too messy and was natural.
The face pads are available in white or black.
How does Face Halo work?
It’s so simple! Basically, you add cold or warm water to a Face Halo pad which loosens up your makeup. The Halotech fibre strands can then penetrate pores to remove and trap make up, leaving you with clean quick in a flash.
After years of trying out different face washes, gels, oils and more, I didn’t think water was going to do the job of removing make up as well.
The last thing I want, is to rub and scrub and irritate my sensitive skin, but gentle circular movements with the pad was easily enough to remove my foundation, powder, eye makeup and mascara. And for heavier makeup, you just need to re-hydrate your Face Halo well with water and hold it on the eyes or eyelashes for 5-10 seconds, then remove.
Your face pad will arrive in a package of three and feels soft and fluffy, so for your first initial use, you’ll want to soak it in warm water for a few minutes.
Massage the sponge around your face in circular motions. Don’t forget the neck — the most neglected part of our bodies. The unique shape of these pads helps to get around small areas of the face like the nostrils and under eye area.
How to Clean Face Halo
Pretty simple after each use, you’ll want to rinse your sponge with warm water and another miracle will occur, fresh and ready to use again and again. For some stubborn makeup residue you might want to hand wash your Face Halo with soap and warm first then throw into the washing machine. Don’t use Fabric Softener. Plus, they can be washed around 200 times. I think they’re a great combination of a makeup wipe and pad. The best makeup remover face wipes I’ve used before were still gentle but so expensive.
Leave your pad in an open space so that it can dry thoroughly. Be cautious about leaving it in the shower though. The warm, moist and dark environment is a petri dish for bacteria and mold.
My Thoughts about Face Halo
I’m not wearing full coverage foundation every day because it’s not necessary, but for someone who does she might think that the heavy makeup won’t be properly removed. These reusable make up remover pads leave my face feeling super clean without drying it out. I have dry skin. At the same time though, some products can really dry it out.
I’ve tried other makeup remover products before and love them, but my face just doesn’t feel ‘clean’ afterwards.
Mascaras are waterproof and even some of the best eye makeup remover products I’ve used haven’t removed all of it. The Face Halo natural eye makeup remover pads are not irritating and with very little effort is a great mascara remover. If it’s feeling particularly ‘stuck’, I’ll wet the pad, hold it over my eye for a few seconds and then gentle wipe the mascara away.
I’m so happy to have found Face Halo’s microfiber makeup remover cleanser pads they’ve made my bedtime routine even quicker.
